“Colour and I are one. I am a painter.” - Paul Klee
Works by Brent Millar, an artist whose poetic and colourful works are to be found in numerous public and private collections in the UK and beyond.
Brent lives and works in Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland. Although perhaps more famous for producing literary giants, Scotland has a tradition of producing fine painters, renowned for their handling of colour. Brent’s paintings, drawings and etchings reveal a true mastery of exuberant line and colour that make him one of the most accomplished artists working in Scotland today.
He finds inspiration in nature but his imagination and inventiveness ensure that these works are more than mere transcriptions of appearance. Regardless of their complex layering of images, they attempt to capture with subtlety and simplicity a rare spiritual beauty.
As such these works merit close and careful study, so please take your time to browse. The website will be updated on a regular basis as new work is completed.
